“As if someone had managed to distill & purify the more addictive qualities of 'Erin Brockovich,' 'Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil' & 'The Andromeda Strain.'”

Book Tour

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks hits stores 2/2/10, and Rebecca Skloot will be traveling to speak at universities, scientific organizations, bookstores, book groups and more as part of a four-month tour. For the full story of the tour, and how and why Skloot is organizing it herself, see her story, “The Immortal Book Tour,” in Publishers Weekly.

Click on your region on the Immortal Book Tour Map below to see when she’s in your area, and email immortaltour@rebeccaskloot.com to help bring The Immortal Life to your town. This tour will depend entirely on funding from talks at universities and other venues, so locations able to help cover expenses get priority (and many, many thanks). For a calendar of Rebecca Skloot’s speaking events arranged by date instead of location, see the Events page of this website, or access her schedule via her Booktour.com page, where you can subscribe to an up-to-date feed of her tour dates, and more.

MAP KEY (scroll down for map):
Purple dots = officially scheduled events

Question marks = places along Skloot’s route where she hopes people will help organize events, but where there is no official event yet (hint, hint!). Anyone in those locations interested in helping to organize an event should contact Skloot.

A lack of question mark or purple dot does not mean Skloot won’t go there! If your city isn’t marked on the map and you’d like to help organize an event, get in touch.
