    Frederick Reads – Rebecca Skloot in conversation with NPR’s Michele Norris, Q&A and book signing

    Thursday, April 19 at 7:30 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) Weinberg Center for the Arts, 20 W. Patrick Street, Downtown Frederick. Event details at www.weinbergcenter.org or call 301-600-2828. This is a free event, no tickets are required; however seating is first-come, first-served as available.

    This event is co-sponsored by Frederick Reads and the Hood College Center for the Humanities Colloquium, and is supported by Hood College’s William J. and Wilma M. Haines Lecture in Biomedical Ethics and the Hanson Fund for Enhancing Communities.

    Skloot will be interviewed onstage by award-winning journalist and author, Michele Norris, host of NPR’s “All Things Considered” and one of the most respected voices in American journalism. Norris’ book, “The Grace of Silence: a Memoir” was published in which she unearthed long hidden family secrets that raised questions about her racial legacy and shed new light on America’s complicated racial history.
